We headed up to Cottonwood on Saturday morning since my office had there holiday party on Friday night. After we got settled into camp Lori and Dave came over and the four of us headed off to taste some wines.
We started off at Javalina Leap Winery www.javelinaleapwinery.com. We tasted five different wines with Greg explaining the wines. The tasting room was very small with a wine charm. A friend of mine informed to ask for Rob(the owner). Rob was out back bottling his new harvest of Zinfidel. The four of us all like one Merlot, so each of us bought a bottle.
The next stop was Oak Creek Winery. We were greeted by the owner Deb. She was very entertaining. She told us her life story and how she got into owning a winery. One night while drinking too much wine she decide to follow her dream. While tasting we enjoyed some garlic cheese with cookies. After tasting Ron and I decided to purchase some Port to drink on the cold nights in Cottonwood.
Our final stop was Alacanta in Cottonwood. We really enjoy the wines and atmosphere. We were greeted with Kat, Robin and Barbara (the owner). The four of us sat down and Kat brought us the list to choose from to start tasting. They sold out of our favorite the Petite Syrah. Barbara brought us some delicous white cheddar cheese with bagette
bread. Of course we can not leave without purchasing another bottle.
After we got back to camp. We played with the Wii. Lori taught me how to operated the controller. We did one game of bowling together. I really enjoyed playing bowling. I tried to play tennis and did not fair so well. I can see where the Wii can be addicting and make you work out. Dave showed us how to play golf and Mario racing.
Last night after Lori and Dave left our coach. About fifteen minutes later it started pouring rain. It rained off and on all night long. We had another relaxing weekend. We always enjoy spending with our friends Lori and Dave. Ron and I were sad to head home today.
